zig_zag123: (Wolfwood in the moonlight)
This weekend was a lot of fun! Saturday I was suppose to go to Habana Tapas, one of the restaurants from the show I helped make, with some people from work. However, due to the snow that got canceled. Oh well, it gave me more time to do some cleaning around the apartment.

Then I went to church before grabbing my stuff and running off to Autumn's place. Mo, Sam, and I dressed ourselves up in costume, but poor Autumn. She tried so very hard to stay awake, but she kept passing out no matter what she did so she eventually went off to bed. Mo, Sam, and I stayed up until about 2am watching scary movies and enjoying our costumes.

In the morning we had some serious talks about life and stuff. It was nice to just chat. Then Sam and I played some Magic. He says I'm getting a whole lot better! I even beat his mulling deck that has so far been next to impossible to beat. Granted I still need some coaching as I play, but it's getting more towards - I am following the rules, right then THIS is the better move, right? I think I'm really growing found of the red and black decks. @_@ The blues seem like too much work. Then again, I'm always borrowing pre-made decks as I have no cards of my own. Maybe I wouldn't be such a quick learner at it if I had to make my own. XD

I then talked with Autumn about life and stuff for a long time before leaving around 5pm to head home. I had to stop at Target to pick up a couple things which was fun, as I was wearing my bloody T-shirt and tiny hat. People like my tiny hat. I've gotten so many compliments for it.

Then yesterday I wore it to work just for fun. Everyone at work loved it too. The best part of the day though? Was when my back payments from unemployment finally came in. I was so happy I nearly cried because I was starting to think I didn't qualify for the extension like the woman on the phone said I did. I was getting really nervous about how I was going to make it through Dec. In celebration I bought some kettle corn and soda for the movie night I was planning to have.

And movie night was a lot of fun. I put on my cloak just for the fun of wearing my cloak. I light a couple pumpkin smelling candles, made the popcorn, poured myself a soda and popped in New Nightmare. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street movies with the cat until 3am when I finally fell into bed. I was a little bummed that I couldn't watch horror movies with my dad, but it was still a lot of fun!

The costumes!
Halloween fun )
zig_zag123: (Bad day?)
Today was a bit of a disapointment. Autumn and I talked yesterday about meeting up before her class to go to Ihop then to see my place as she's never been to it. She's also finally get to see my cat. I really wasn't surprised when that didn't happen, she said last night she probably wouldn't be motivated to get up, but that still meant I spent most of the day hungry - just in case. It wasn't very nice out today anyway.

The major disapointment was that yesterday I spent most of the day cleaning my room and working on a project of a homemade display stand so I could finally get out the Trigun figures I bought for myself for my birthday way back in May. I haven't opened them because I haven't found a good safe spot for them to stay, but now I finally did. The Vash one went pretty well, although was disapointed that his hair isn't blond so much of a light brown. He also doesn't have many points to turn him so his pose-a-bility is pretty low. But I'm still happy to have him. After all! I even got him for five bucks!

Then I opened the Wolfwood one.
And took silly pictures of course! )
When I was done being silly I thought I'd see how I could pose him with the cross. Took the hand out he came with and oh so carefully tired to push the hand that was needed for him to hold the cross ever so carefully into the socket. It wasn't moving so I tried to twist it ever so carefully. And I really was trying to be very careful as I've heard how easily these things could break. I guess I wasn't being careful enough as the hand wouldn't go in, but it was still sticking out awkwardly, so I thought I'd try to take it out and put a differnet one it.

Only as I tried to carefully wiggle it back out the hand snapped off in my hand. I couldn't believe it. To try to cheer myself up I smashed the confessional on Vash's head. It cheered me up a bit as I waited for the superglue to harden.

This handy confessional! )
I had hoped that with the glue I could maybe have enough to grab onto that I could pull the peg out. Nope. Well! At least I had the hand that held the punisher. Only the way I glued it back on it was a bit akward looking how he was holding it. But with a little tweaking I got it to work! I felt so much better.

Go me! )
That was until a few hours later he fell and is broken again. :( Even the cat batting around his head that exploded off when he fell couldn't cheer me up. I guess maybe I'll just fold his arm so it KINDA looks like his hand is in his pocket. Still totally bummed that I had kept him in his package for so long to avoid breaking him that it was all wasted within the five minutes I had him open.

Today has just been a day of horrible disapointment. No yummy breakfast food I didn't have to cook. No seeing Autumn. Broken figure I waited so long to mess with. LJ not registering the reszing and color correcting I did on photoshop. And now AOL won't upload the icon I'm telling it to. :( Just a day of fail.

The one not fail today. Vash without the church on his head )
zig_zag123: (Drunk)

So didn't do much for my birthday, and I'm happy with that. I don't need a big party. They're fun and nice, but I really enjoyed the day I had today.

First off like I said, I got some pretty flowers from my mom. They smell great and I'm going to love them until they sadly die. Pictures under the cut! Large photos as I was too lazy to edit them.
Purdy Flowers! )

Autumn and I just kinda chilled and hung out together. We were going to move furniture out of an apartment, but Autumn managed to get ahold of the girl that was going to move out and she's decided last minute to pay for May's rent, so that didn't happen. Instead we went to Canel Street in China town to attempt to find a game store we had found once before and neither of us remembered where it was.

We managed to find it!! Not only that we found this one store that sell figure and OMG they had a Black Coat Vash figure for 25 dollars! Totally going back for that when I get a steady income again!

...you know if I can find the store again.

There was also a game I kinda wanted to buy at the game store, but I uh... kinda got a LITTLE too addicted to ebay and... kinda bought some stuff by mistake. Ahhhhhahaha... yeah. There might have been a couple figures listed that I had seen going for around 25-30 bucks and I threw up a bid while they were at 5 and 15 dollars just because I couldn't help myself and figured I'd get outbid on them anyway.

Um.... nope. Won them both. Whoops! So yeah, really didn't feel right after that splurging on another 25 dollar toy when I already had a couple things coming in the mail for me.

Autumn and I also went into this store we like that just seems to sell a little bit of everything. They have a bunch of chopstick and Autumn bought me one for my birthday! And one for herself so we match! Little bunny chopsticks! SEE HOW CUTE THEY ARE?!
Bunny! )
We went and looked at some bra's at Burlington because Autumn wanted to buy me a new one for my birthday. Only couldn't find one that fit. Damn my crazy mis-shapened breats! I really need to win the lottery or something so I can afford to get a brest reduction. Then we went to 42nd street for a bit to see that store that sells Japanese books.

After that we were pretty tired. So we went to the Atlantic ave mall and I got sized at Victora Secert. Autumn thought maybe it would help me find a bra that fits, but sadly, no. I do have my size right. My "girls" are just losers. So no new bra for me today. (Why do people call them girls? Can't they be WOMANS!? XD)

After that bit of disapointment we got those ice cream cupcakes at Coldstones. AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS! I didn't realize it, but the 'wrapper' that cupcakes come in, these weren't paper. They were dark chocolate shells! Made it so much cooler. They were VERY yummy, but nothing I'd get again, unless someone was splitting with me or specail occation.

The last thing Autumn and I did together was to get subs from Subway. Then we spilt up as she had work to get done and I needed some grociers. So I made a quick trip to Target to get some bread and milk - so glad I did. Some of my favorite TV dinners were on sale but not only that... BACON WAS ON CLEARANCE! I totally picked some up and had the great idea to cook it up and put it in my subway sandwhich. DELICIOUS.

When I got home I finally opened my Kuroneko bobble head. OMG it's bigger than I thought it was! But it's cute and I so love it. So does my cat. Who when I sat it down for a moment to clear a good spot for a picture it stared and slowly reached out a paw and bopped it's head over and over again. Of course, as soon as I turned around to get a picture of this Sandman (my new cat's name) was more interested in getting pets then posing. Oh well. So here's a shot of all my gifts this year!

The loot! )

And just because I could here are some pictures of what I have now dubed my "Wall of Geek" even though it's not really a wall so much of a shelf... WHATEVERS!

It's a little diseveled right now as it also has the box my mom sent me for easter there. But it has that Easter Grass in it and the cat WILL attempt to eat it. Just waiting for Garbage day to get rid of it - as kitty can't reach it up
Close up and geeking out over the figures )

And then finally, have some pictures of my new kitty Sandman! He's such a ham and a lover. I feel bad though, because I do treat him like Buttons now and then, even though I try not too. I wonder sometimes how long it will take me to change habits I use to do for her. Like making sure to place my glasses far off to the right of my night stand so she won't knock them over to get me up in the morning. Or sliding my pillow over to the edge of the bed to make room for a kitty next to my head. Buttons always favored sleeping next to my head at night. Sandman actually likes to be near my feet.

The other thing I forget is that if I twitched in the morning, Buttons would take that as a sign for me to get up and feed her, where Sandman is usually in my roommate room by the time I wake up. Or if he is still in my room, he does start purring when he thinks I'm awake, but keeps laying there and lets me fall back alseep if I want to. So I have to keep reminding myself that it's okay to roll over. Also I could never pick Buttons up. She had bad hips and so picking her up could hurt her. So I never did it, but I forget sometimes I can pick Sandman up when I need to. But I'm learning what a nifty thing this picking cats up and out of my chair is! It's nice!

I miss Buttons. We share this month for our Birthdays. We don't remember exactly what day she was born, but she's now 21 years old! Dad says she's doing great. I'm glad and I hope I get to see her again soon. Sandman's wonderful and I'm so glad to have a kitty again, but he doesn't feel like MY cat just yet. He's still my roommate's cat who is just ALWAYS in my room.

But just look how cute he is!

Whoa, this post got a little off topic... BUT OH WELL! It's still my birthday for a few more hours. I'M ALLOWED TO GET OFF TOPIC IF I WANT TO!

zig_zag123: (Shit...)
So I said I would and I finally got off my lazy butt and fired up the crappy scanner so here you are! My gifts from [livejournal.com profile] kittanylilac! Enjoy!

Vash is such a cute loser )
zig_zag123: (Kenshin Smile)
Today was much better. Woke up feeling so much less ragey. I could still tell I had a short fuse so I stayed in my room most of the day. I didn't want to snap at the wrong person. Then later on mom came home with the mail and I got my Christmas card from [livejournal.com profile] kittanylilac! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wish I had done something as awesome with yours! I love the pictures you drew for me of Vash! Sorry his coat is so hard to draw, but d'aw! He does look great in normal clothes! Btw. He has sparkles all over him from the card. SPARKLES EVERYWHERE! 8D

One good thing though, mom watched me open it and took one of the pictures as I took the other. Hehehe... luckily I got the one with Yuber and uh *cough* hid it. XD I didn't feel I had enough energy to explain that one to mom, but I couldn't stop giggling. Mom thought Vash looked very cute and happy! "Look at all those donuts he has!" If it's alright with you I'd love to scan and throw them up on the LJ~

Then later I took the dog for a walk. It was finally decent enough weather that the two of us didn't want to go running back into the house as soon as her business was done. Lately I've been trying to do silly things with the snow each time we go out. I've drawn a smiley face, hi, and a few other messages in the snow, but the hi and smiley haven't been covered up yet so there was no more room to draw. As I walked the feild with the dog I realized the snow was the perfect packing kind. So I started to make a snowman.

I was wait out in the back of the feild. So I made a small one and used grass and stuff to give it a face and carted it back to the house. I propped it up by dad's birdfeed. Then I made another one and put that on mom's van so she'd see it the next time she went to work. Only she spotted it early - which was good because it ended up falling over and gettng splatted.

The one out back actually fell too, but I put him back together and is currently still standing!

Pictures! )

Okay, so today I took on the challenge of finding the bottom of my dessertop. I do this every few month or so and I find the most intersting of things! Like a bunch of baby pictures. Muw ha ha. Oh... and the bottom of my dresser. I knew that it existed somewhere! Although I must admit cleaning that thing was hard. I'm still trying to downsize the clutter in my life and free myself from becoming a horder, but it's tough. I ended up throwing away a lot of odds and ends I've been hanging onto forever and cleared out a couple jewerly boxes that my grandmother gave to me and put them in the bag I'm getting ready to take to the salvation army.

It was tough, but I know now I don't need these knick-knacks in my life. I have the memories, I don't need the things. Just like I'm sure my grandmother understands me donating the things she gave me. I'll always remember and miss her, I don't need the clutter. What am I going to do after all? Take all that with me to Australia? I don't think so.

But my soul-searching journay into bettering myself isn't what you're still hanging around for is it? On to the baby pictures! You have been forwarned - these images are huge because I was too lazy to resize them or scan them one at a time. Oh, I saved the best for last. It's what I lovenly called: The worst picture of me and my sister ever taken - EVER. And she's an infant and I'm 2 - how do you screw that up?

Mini-me! Only ten days old! )

A little bit older! )

Hey sister, this is my LJ - stop stealing the show. )

Baptisms of me and my sister )

Holy crap! Something went horribly wrong here! )

zig_zag123: (Teamwork)

Aha! I finally cleared the scanner off and scanned just a few pictures from the MASSIVE icestrom that hit my area back in Jan 1998. When I say massive - I mean MASSIVE. Power was out for nearly a month in some areas - we were one of the lucky ones and we got it back after two-three weeks. Yeah. Lucky. Red cross was sent in and power lines were down all over. And this was from ONE night of freezing raing.

That's right. One. Night.

The pictures behind the cut are large and there are 30 of them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! And yes - my family really loved that stupid blue hat SOMEONE is wearing in nearly every picture. It was nice and warm!

Car woes

Mar. 4th, 2008 01:40 pm
zig_zag123: (Annoyed)
So, I live when at home kinda out in the middle of nowhere and when I'm here on campus... I'm still a bit in the middle of no where. Long story short - it's the kind of place where you need a car to get a job, but you need a job so you can have a car. When I was younger I was a major horder of money. Birthday, babysitting, pennies on the ground, it was all horded away as I knew at a young age that my family was poor and wouldn't be able to help me much when I grew older.

So when I was about 17 I bought myself my first car. It was one of my cousin's old cars and if I paid for the break work and such to make it legal then it would be mine. A few hundered dollars later and I had myself my first crappy car. And I was proud.

The speakers only sometimes worked, as did the breaks. It was scary the moments I'd try to stop and realize I was not stopping. The heat didn't work. It was a hard two weeks when I had to drive 30 mins to school in -20F weather. (About -29C). It was so fricken cold. I was always spending money having it fixed up at the shop, but it was so good to have a car to get me from point A to B.

Then I left to go to a college five hours from my house. My parents talked me into leaving the car with them as they could use the extra car and I would be able to bus to anywhere I needed to be. So I said yes. Mom then adopted my car. For awhile... my car was almost the best veichal we had. Til finally my family started to do better and it was decided to get a REAL new car. So we went and got a used car that was only a year old instead of 20.

See as my car really was a death trap with the breaks always failing mom forbid me to drive it and so the new car in an amazing way became mine and dad then adopted my car and mom bought herself a used Van because our Truck finally died. That was a good summer. Having a car that had heat AND air conditioning. It was amazing.

Then it was time to go back to school and again the car was left behind as Casey was working now. So my car became hers. And that's when I stopped having a car when I came home. Casey ended up crashing the new one, luckily the insurance was able to get us another. Mom had a car for working. Dad had a car for working. Casey had one for working. And I was left out in the cold. It was very hard to get them to share. So then I went to Australia and had an amazing time and had planned on coming home right away to start working again. Start saving like before, but no one wants to share their cars so I can.

Now dad is retired, but my orginal car is so crappy that no one can drive it and we get to the point that started me on this little rant. Yesterday dad took the plates off my car and off our insurance. And just an hour ago a guy showed up with 50 dollars and my car was hauled away. It was so rusted that the body was basically sitting on top of it. Not really attached in anyway.

So now, this family is back to two cars. Mom said before I left for school that she was going to talk to her sister about having me buy the car she was going to sell for parts. I'm all for this. I have about 100 dollars left to my name so mom will loan me money if the costs to replace the muffler and whatever else is wrong with it goes over that. But now she's changed her mind. She's wants me to share the two cars we already have. She doesn't seem to want to listen that we've tired that before, but my family doesn't care if I run late. I've tried sharing cars and when I need them by a certain time they always tend to run late. So that's no good. Instead she wants me to get a better car than what Varsi has as Varsi's isn't much better than my red car. Which doesn't matter to me. I'm just insanly desprite for a job and it's just frustrating when I think about Casey. Automatically getting the nice car without paying a cent for it. Where I bought my red car, paid for repairs, and paid for all my gas where mom has helped Casey now and again for gas. It just doesn't feel fair and I know I shouldn't complain and whine, but sometimes it gives me a headach thinking about it.

Five pictures of my old car as it's taken away under cut.

Kitty Time!

Apr. 5th, 2007 12:47 pm
zig_zag123: (Yay!)
I was talking about my kitty the other day to  [profile] webfootand actually found a little spare time and thought I would post pictures so she could see her. So pictures!

zig_zag123: (Oro?)
AHH! This Friday is the phone interview for the study aboard program through Buffalo. Gah! I'm so nervous. I'm not even sure which school they'll be sending me to. Either the U of  Adelaide or perhaps the U of South Australia. GAH! I hope I don't sound stupid or my phone dies or something. @_@

I hope I get in through Buffalo, then I can stop the paper work to get into the other schools. I know that's lazy, but they'd all be sending me to the same place anyway and as I've already done this once for Buffalo I'd rather not do it YET again for a different school. *crosses fingers*

On an unrealated note, I'm glad I'm not home. The other night smoke was coming out of the fernance - it's broken. Which means my family must once again rely on karasone heaters to warm our house or freeze. Poor Casey got sick from the fumes the other day. And it was -33f the other day. NEGATIVE 33! But someone is happy over all this trouble. My kitty! She loves sitting next to the heaters! Mom sent me an email telling me how she goes to pet the cat and one half will be very hot and the other cold. She sent pictures too! KITTY PICTURE TIME!
