zig_zag123: (Wolfwood in the moonlight)
This weekend was a lot of fun! Saturday I was suppose to go to Habana Tapas, one of the restaurants from the show I helped make, with some people from work. However, due to the snow that got canceled. Oh well, it gave me more time to do some cleaning around the apartment.

Then I went to church before grabbing my stuff and running off to Autumn's place. Mo, Sam, and I dressed ourselves up in costume, but poor Autumn. She tried so very hard to stay awake, but she kept passing out no matter what she did so she eventually went off to bed. Mo, Sam, and I stayed up until about 2am watching scary movies and enjoying our costumes.

In the morning we had some serious talks about life and stuff. It was nice to just chat. Then Sam and I played some Magic. He says I'm getting a whole lot better! I even beat his mulling deck that has so far been next to impossible to beat. Granted I still need some coaching as I play, but it's getting more towards - I am following the rules, right then THIS is the better move, right? I think I'm really growing found of the red and black decks. @_@ The blues seem like too much work. Then again, I'm always borrowing pre-made decks as I have no cards of my own. Maybe I wouldn't be such a quick learner at it if I had to make my own. XD

I then talked with Autumn about life and stuff for a long time before leaving around 5pm to head home. I had to stop at Target to pick up a couple things which was fun, as I was wearing my bloody T-shirt and tiny hat. People like my tiny hat. I've gotten so many compliments for it.

Then yesterday I wore it to work just for fun. Everyone at work loved it too. The best part of the day though? Was when my back payments from unemployment finally came in. I was so happy I nearly cried because I was starting to think I didn't qualify for the extension like the woman on the phone said I did. I was getting really nervous about how I was going to make it through Dec. In celebration I bought some kettle corn and soda for the movie night I was planning to have.

And movie night was a lot of fun. I put on my cloak just for the fun of wearing my cloak. I light a couple pumpkin smelling candles, made the popcorn, poured myself a soda and popped in New Nightmare. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street movies with the cat until 3am when I finally fell into bed. I was a little bummed that I couldn't watch horror movies with my dad, but it was still a lot of fun!

The costumes!

Crazy week

Sep. 4th, 2011 12:06 am
zig_zag123: (Oro?)
Man, I've been wanting to update this thing for over a week now, but it's been crazy and busy. First off last week I started by doing a MAJOR overhaul of my old resume. I was feeling pretty proud of it! Just as I was signing off AVG let me know that it found a virus. I told it to delete it and went to bed, deciding I would do a system restore first thing in the morning just to be safe.

Yeah. That didn't work out. Tried the system restore and it just made everything worse and soon I was getting blue screen of death. And this was AFTER spending 12 hours to let Mallyware Bites scan for 12 hours and found nothing and AVG running another scan for 4 and also finding nothing.

So I took my computer up to geek squad. They couldn't get rid of the virus, but for a 100 bucks they would try to save all my files. I left it with them and they said they'd call me in two or three days when it was done.

You're hired! Just sit around all day first )Tamest but most fun bachelorette I've ever been too... also only one I've been too )

So didn't do much for my birthday, and I'm happy with that. I don't need a big party. They're fun and nice, but I really enjoyed the day I had today.

First off like I said, I got some pretty flowers from my mom. They smell great and I'm going to love them until they sadly die. Pictures under the cut! Large photos as I was too lazy to edit them.
Purdy Flowers! )

Autumn and I just kinda chilled and hung out together. We were going to move furniture out of an apartment, but Autumn managed to get ahold of the girl that was going to move out and she's decided last minute to pay for May's rent, so that didn't happen. Instead we went to Canel Street in China town to attempt to find a game store we had found once before and neither of us remembered where it was.

We managed to find it!! Not only that we found this one store that sell figure and OMG they had a Black Coat Vash figure for 25 dollars! Totally going back for that when I get a steady income again!

...you know if I can find the store again.

There was also a game I kinda wanted to buy at the game store, but I uh... kinda got a LITTLE too addicted to ebay and... kinda bought some stuff by mistake. Ahhhhhahaha... yeah. There might have been a couple figures listed that I had seen going for around 25-30 bucks and I threw up a bid while they were at 5 and 15 dollars just because I couldn't help myself and figured I'd get outbid on them anyway.

Um.... nope. Won them both. Whoops! So yeah, really didn't feel right after that splurging on another 25 dollar toy when I already had a couple things coming in the mail for me.

Autumn and I also went into this store we like that just seems to sell a little bit of everything. They have a bunch of chopstick and Autumn bought me one for my birthday! And one for herself so we match! Little bunny chopsticks! SEE HOW CUTE THEY ARE?!
Bunny! )
We went and looked at some bra's at Burlington because Autumn wanted to buy me a new one for my birthday. Only couldn't find one that fit. Damn my crazy mis-shapened breats! I really need to win the lottery or something so I can afford to get a brest reduction. Then we went to 42nd street for a bit to see that store that sells Japanese books.

After that we were pretty tired. So we went to the Atlantic ave mall and I got sized at Victora Secert. Autumn thought maybe it would help me find a bra that fits, but sadly, no. I do have my size right. My "girls" are just losers. So no new bra for me today. (Why do people call them girls? Can't they be WOMANS!? XD)

After that bit of disapointment we got those ice cream cupcakes at Coldstones. AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS! I didn't realize it, but the 'wrapper' that cupcakes come in, these weren't paper. They were dark chocolate shells! Made it so much cooler. They were VERY yummy, but nothing I'd get again, unless someone was splitting with me or specail occation.

The last thing Autumn and I did together was to get subs from Subway. Then we spilt up as she had work to get done and I needed some grociers. So I made a quick trip to Target to get some bread and milk - so glad I did. Some of my favorite TV dinners were on sale but not only that... BACON WAS ON CLEARANCE! I totally picked some up and had the great idea to cook it up and put it in my subway sandwhich. DELICIOUS.

When I got home I finally opened my Kuroneko bobble head. OMG it's bigger than I thought it was! But it's cute and I so love it. So does my cat. Who when I sat it down for a moment to clear a good spot for a picture it stared and slowly reached out a paw and bopped it's head over and over again. Of course, as soon as I turned around to get a picture of this Sandman (my new cat's name) was more interested in getting pets then posing. Oh well. So here's a shot of all my gifts this year!

The loot! )

And just because I could here are some pictures of what I have now dubed my "Wall of Geek" even though it's not really a wall so much of a shelf... WHATEVERS!

It's a little diseveled right now as it also has the box my mom sent me for easter there. But it has that Easter Grass in it and the cat WILL attempt to eat it. Just waiting for Garbage day to get rid of it - as kitty can't reach it up
Close up and geeking out over the figures )

And then finally, have some pictures of my new kitty Sandman! He's such a ham and a lover. I feel bad though, because I do treat him like Buttons now and then, even though I try not too. I wonder sometimes how long it will take me to change habits I use to do for her. Like making sure to place my glasses far off to the right of my night stand so she won't knock them over to get me up in the morning. Or sliding my pillow over to the edge of the bed to make room for a kitty next to my head. Buttons always favored sleeping next to my head at night. Sandman actually likes to be near my feet.

The other thing I forget is that if I twitched in the morning, Buttons would take that as a sign for me to get up and feed her, where Sandman is usually in my roommate room by the time I wake up. Or if he is still in my room, he does start purring when he thinks I'm awake, but keeps laying there and lets me fall back alseep if I want to. So I have to keep reminding myself that it's okay to roll over. Also I could never pick Buttons up. She had bad hips and so picking her up could hurt her. So I never did it, but I forget sometimes I can pick Sandman up when I need to. But I'm learning what a nifty thing this picking cats up and out of my chair is! It's nice!

I miss Buttons. We share this month for our Birthdays. We don't remember exactly what day she was born, but she's now 21 years old! Dad says she's doing great. I'm glad and I hope I get to see her again soon. Sandman's wonderful and I'm so glad to have a kitty again, but he doesn't feel like MY cat just yet. He's still my roommate's cat who is just ALWAYS in my room.

But just look how cute he is!

Whoa, this post got a little off topic... BUT OH WELL! It's still my birthday for a few more hours. I'M ALLOWED TO GET OFF TOPIC IF I WANT TO!

zig_zag123: (Oro?)

Just... whoa.

My life right now. I've been so busy lately. Also my sister is in the city now. Staying the night at a friend's house tonight, but we're meeting up tomorrow and I think she's staying the week with me. I don't know, she keeps changing her mind. Either way - blah, not going to be around. Also, my sister's first time in the city so any suggestions on what to show her would be awesome.

I also have to move apartments sometime soonish. Ugh.

*stares at awesome Luceti events* meaheraaaaaaaaaah... why do awesome ones that require thought come at SUCH a bad time for me thinking clearly. harieahreareanare I want to devour all that delcious AU talk, but I'm just so wiped mentally right now that I... just... can't... focus.

Speaking of Luceti right now and I'm going to add an extra whoa to my total. Holy crap guys. I got curious at work because I heard that rpanon thing got crazy and took a peek. Wow. Reminds me why I never go onto that thing. Are people really upset over all of this? While I think the AC rule changes are fair and a good idea, people are allowed to drop if they don't feel comfortable anymore. Yes, it wasn't good that one made mention to the entire playerbase with her's but... can't we just look the other way? Anon's man. They're MEAN. I feel that they should have given the new rule and Mod's a chance with this, but if they felt dropping was for the best, then that's what was best for them. I wouldn't want them to play if they weren't having fun anymore!

And now I will take my own advice and move on. Just it was... whoa. I don't know if things usually get that blown up on the anon thing, but just... whoa. I wasn't expecting something like THAT.

Anyway today wasn't so bad. Got let out an hour early from work. Me and two others I intern with couldn't decide if she was just sick of us or that she had something she wanted to do alone. We didn't care, we were out of there. As I was getting close to having a mental break down going over old files and trying to match photos to facebook so I could properly lable them for her.

We went to Starbucks and had a good time just hanging out together and ranting about our jobs. We've come to the conclusion that I'm currently her favorite intern. All thanks to HTML I learned thanks to rping so much on LJ. Ha! Also I know the basics of Power Point so she thinks I'm a god of Power Point. We're all in agreement that this favorite status will soon crumble when she figures out I don't REALLY know what I'm doing besides making things look colorful.

Walked a coworker to her bus then hopped onto the train to meet Autumn at the corner store. Where we bought chips and soda as we had a movie night planned. After making a quick trip back to my place to look over movies and to pick a few out when then went one block over to her new apartment to make spagetti and look through her roommates movies.

We ended up finding City of Lost Childern. We ended up watching it and I actually love it. I think it was great! It was so funny and the camera angles and settings were so interesting!

Anyway, need sleep because I've nearly passed out several times typing it up. That's the other issue I've gotten going. I can't stay asleep anymore. I've been waking up close to what feels like (it's hard to keep count sometimes) five to eight times a night. So, better get to bed. I'm sure Casey can't wait to see the city tomorrow.
zig_zag123: (As you're staring at the sun)
Whoooo! After Christmas post! Let's start out with the loot I guess, party because I'm drinking part of it right now~

Mom bought me some flavored hot chocolate mixes and four small bottles white Russian Kahlua. They are so yummy when you mix them together. So far I've tried the raspberry and pepermint hot choco and using the kahlua too cool it instead of milk it gets this super yummy creamy undertaste to the already yummy flavor. Mmmhmm... excuse me a minute as I melt into this deliciousness. I'm going to try the carmal flavor next. So excited for it. Oh? And I bought myself some after christmas candy (cheap candy WHOO!) and dropped a pepermint chocolate into the coco - best idea EVER.

My sister I think spent too much money on me. She bought me a bottle of Irish Creme Bailyes and two shot bottles of their carmal flavor and the DVD of the orginal Nightmare on Elm Street. She loved the cupcake earings and matching necklace I got her and I'm so glad she did. I was a little worried about it, but she opened it and went: OOOH! CUPCAKES! I love cupcakes! So I guess I didn't need to worry!

Mom, besides the drink stuff, also spent WAY to much money on me. "Small" Christmas she says. Hah. Silly mother-person. She's never been good at the "small" idea. She got me the Cataclysm expansion pack for World of Warcraft, plus two months of play time, a gift card for Borders, plus the new Trigun DVD box set! Which means I have finally replaced my old bootlegged box set. Not that it wasn't a GREAT bootleg, but I bought it back when I was young and foolish and didn't know there were unoffical box sets out there. It's nice to have the offical thing. Mom kept asking what I was going to do with it and I think I'm going to keep it. I can't even BEGIN to remember all the times I've lent that thing out trying to get people addicted to Trigun and always feared never getting it back! So now I can lend out the bootleg copy, but not worry too much if I don't get it back - I have a REAL copy now!

Ahahaha... poor mom though. When I make my christmas wish lists for family I make it VERY specific or they don't know what I'm asking. As they're not geeks if I'm not crazy specific they don't know what they're looking for. Well, on the Trigun boxset it says: Complete Series. Not Boxset. Aparently mom didn't think it was the right thing at first and got assulted by anime nerds when she tried to ask if it was the same as a box set - who then went into how awesome the show was at her.

She was still nervous when I opened it. Converstaion went a bit like this:
Mother-person: That's the right one right?
Zig-zag: Yeah! It's perfect! Thanks mom!
MP: Oh good, because I remember you pointing at a picture with a guy in a red coat.
ZZ: *points to Vash on the cover* ...but he IS wearing a red coat.
MP: But he isn't! *point to Wolfwood* Shouldn't HE be wearing a red coat too?
ZZ: PFfffft. No mom. Wolfwood is too cool to wear a red coat.
MP: Ooohhh...

Spent the rest of Christmas actually running with GOOD pick up groups in WoW and got TWO dungeons finished. Played lots of Mario Kart Wii with my sister, until it was time to eat dinner. Which was delicious.

Had a bit of a dick moment though when Casey and I started to do things on our own for a bit then she came wandering in and asking me about some things in World of Warcraft. It was later after I had finished a dungeon run that I remember I had said we could watch a movie she had gotten for Christmas later and she must have come in to ask to watch one. Awww. Poor sister. I feel so bad for not realizing sooner. I'll have to make it up to her somehow.

Backtracking a day to the 24th! )
The Day After Christmas! )

Hope all had a great holiday!
zig_zag123: (Hooper - Funny Face)
Too much sadness in this journal. So let's try something a bit more upbeat.

For starters? I bought my tickets to go visit Autumn in NYC during my vacation from work~! I leave mid-afternoon on the 25th and if all goes right arrive early evening! I'll be back late on 28th. I'm super excited to see Autumn and meet her roomate. And see the city again! I haven't seen it since '04 on our senior trip down there. It was fun as a group, but it will be nice to go with just Autumn. You know, when she's not in class! XD

I'm also thinking I won't bring the computer with me as I'm there to hang out with Autumn! Don't need this thing to distract me. So Vash will be up for his first Mallynap~! Ah, they grow up so fast don't they? Still haven't decided 100% what I'll do for his return. Probably just rough him up but I have also thought about having his memory gone from right before reaching July and have it slowly come back over time, but thinking I'll wait on that one for a longer Haitus - like my move to Australia.

Speaking of moving... I suddenly jumped 900 dollars closer to my 5,000 dollar goal this week. Thank you tax return that I wasn't expecting until July. I am now just over 500 dollars off~! Muw ha ha! So ten times more serious thought into the visas I need and finding some kind of work/place to stay down there. Oh man, there's still so much I need to get done before I go.

Casey and I had fun last night. She invited me out with her friends Josh and Amber. We just went to the local bar and took turns buying rounds - all drinking the same thing. I felt pretty good that they really seemed to like peach schanps and spirt - not to mention the dirty girlscout shot was a big hit! Nice to know I do know a couple drinks people will like. But they also showed me how yummy a royal flush shot is.

They talked a lot of highschool and band - as the three of them were in the same class. It was fun hearing the stories. Then because my phone is a whore Casey realized I had a lot of old pictures she took back then and we got laughing over them. (My phone was my sister's first cell phone orginally, then she upgraded and gave it to mom, then mom upgraded and deactivated it, then my phone broke so now it's mine~!) It was just a fun night of sipping drinks, a couple shots, talking, and then the best quote of the night:

"I can't believe you just spit your ice in my eight dollar drink! ...I'm drinking it anyway."

This was at the end of the night where me and Josh were sobering up because we had to drive - Casey decided to order an long island ice tea to drink while waiting for us to sober. Except the bar tender fucked it up and it tasted horrible. Or so I was told, I didn't try any, but it was more expensive than Casey had thought it would be and she was all: No. I paid for this sucker I'm DRINKING it! And I looked away for a moment and heard some clinking of ice being dropped into a glass when that shout suddenly pierced over the bar. Good times.

When we got home we had a long talk over life and stuff in general. Like how we both feel bad that dad has like... no life. No hobbies except watching TV. Casey said that she's okay with him going out drinking and blowing lots of money if it amuses him for a couple hours - but I pointed out that he could be doing that on a much more productive hobbie. Not only that but if mom and I don't try to control him then he'll blow all the money when he and mom need it to be able to pay bills and food stuff.

We also agree that we don't know how dad will handle it when Egor goes. We talked a bit about how we hope we're both sucessful in the future. It was nice to just talk with Casey.

Also really loving the new 10 Years CD. I'm really glad I choose it. I love most every track on it. And like their last CD damn if I don't want to do some epic AMVs to their music but know I could never make it look as it does in my head. Aw.
zig_zag123: (Two's Company)
So today I got a little note from Borders today in my inbox: ONE DAY ONLY! 40% off one book! So... off Autumn and I ran to Watertown and what did I get? Mushishi volume one. Oh, but I was so very tempted to get Gyo by Junji Ito the same person who did Uzumaki - one of my all time favorite mangas like... ever. In the end I went with Mushishi, considering we now have a Ginko at [livejournal.com profile] luceti  I'd like to know his canon better and Mushishi is actually an anime/manga I've been intersted in picking up for awhile now but been trying not to get into too many fandoms. (Damn my lack of funds and stubborness to do things legally.) Unlike Gyo which I just happened to see on the shelf. I never thought our Borders would expand it's graphic novel section enough to get more horror mangas in. They tend to most go with the popular stuff.

But yes, until Pet Shop of Horror: Tokyo comes out with a new volume I think I'll start collecting Mushishi. Then when that's done I'll pick up Gyo. Which can take a good long time as I only buy books now when I have a 40% off or better coupon. Although on rare occasions maybe a 30% off. Yes. I am very, very cheap.

ANYWAY! So yes. Getting sucked into that. But then we went to Big Lots. And fricken Big Lots. 3 dollar DVDs I have a weakness for. Picked up FMA volume 13, One Piece Movie 8, and Mushishi volume 5. So yeah, the only one I can watch right now is FMA. I've seen all of that. The rest - not so much. But - Muw ha ha! AMV fodder is MIIIIIIINE! There had a bunch of other anime DVDs there and it was so hard not to pick up more but I really shouldn't have bought the three I did so I stopped myself.

I really need to stop buying things for AMV fodder. I do love having a wide variety to choose from when it comes to editing, but it would be nice to get things closer to volume 1 so I can know what the hell is going on. XD

Amusing enough the DVD Autumn ended up picking up had an advertisement in it for Mushishi. So it's apparently a Mushishi kind of day.

Either way - I still blame you all. Or maybe just [livejournal.com profile] whiteadelphi  for getting me into LJRP to begin with. I dunno, but it's someone fault besides mine. *cough* Me not having any will power has NOTHING to do with it.
